Ford Repair: flywheel, torque convertor, ford granada

Question
I NEED A FORD 200 MOTOR     I AM REPLACING THE 250 MOTOR IN MY 81 GRANADA
A FRIEND TOLD ME I WOULD NEED A NEW TORQUE CONVERTOR WITH THE FLYWHEEL    WELDED TO IT.   WITH THIS MOTOR..
IS THIS TRUE AND DO YOU SELL THIS KIND OF convertor SWITCHING FROM A FORD 250 MOTOR TO A FORD 200 MOTOR IN MY 81 FORD GRANADA.

Answer
number one flywheels are not welded to convertors-on fords usually the convertor has studs sticking out and you make sure your bolt holes line up when you are installing the engine or trans-the studs will come through the holes on flywheel and when the engine and transmission are bolted together you should be able to grab one of the studs sticking through the flywheel and wiggle it back and forth freely if you cant then the torque convertor is probably not all the way back in trans like it should be and trying to start the car or install the nuts when it is like this can damage the front pump in transmission-

i don't sell parts outright i usually get mine from supplier as needed and per application so you can check with a dealer or parts supplier for applications-you will need to know the year of each engine. good luck.
