Ford Repair: 2001 ford escape drum removal rear, ford escape, pully

Question
i can not get the drum off...removed clips...if brakes are expanded and holding on how do i turn them back....i thought i had to use a pully to get off rear 4wd axle...but that wasn't it...any thoughts..goal is to inspect and or replace brakes..thanks

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
 I would check to see if there is a window/hole where the adjuster is located. If there is, you should be able to back the adjuster wheel off and slide the drum off. Also, make sure that the e-brake is engaged.
