Ford Repair: 1976 ford flare bed, ford stepside, auto parts store

i have a 1976 ford stepside flare bed. it is an f-100 with a 300 engine.the transmission is automatic.  my question is , when im at a stop and i  give it gas slowly, like your suppose to it, runs fine. but, if im at a stop and i punch the gas quickly and hard it dies on me.what can i look at, to resolve this problem. thank you

It sounds like you have a carbuerator problem and you will need to have it rebuilt. The first thing I would change out on the carb is the accelerator pump. YOu can buy the rebuild kit from Auto Zone, Advanced Auto, Napa or any other reputable auto parts store. If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me again.
