Ford Repair: 1996 Ford Escort Trans. issue., pressure leak, hydraulic transmission

My Escort automatic transmission does not always go into shifting mode right away. But once it does its fine.  Typically it will take about 30 to 60 seconds of slow speed driving before it shifts when the engine is cold. I've had the fluid and filter changed on the transmission but that did'nt seem to change anything.  Do you have any suggestions or thoughts?  Thanks.. .

Odds are there is a pressure leak inside the transmission.  Once the transmission starts to warm up and the apply pistons expand the leak is reduced.  Repair would require electronic/hydraulic transmission diagnosis to better determine where the pressure is leaking.  If the concern only lasts 30-60 seconds I would drive and stay alert for changes in the condition.
