Honda Repair: 1996 Honda Civic, o2 sensor, honda civic

Question
The main problem is that the car (96 Civic) has started to shake really bad at red lights and stop signs, like its going to die. It hasnt died(yet). The check engine light was on and the code was for an O2 sensor, which was replaced yesterday, but the problem still remains. Could the broken o2 sensor have caused something else to malfunction? I have also read that it could be the rotors, but I dont even know how to begin to check those!

Answer
Lauren, I am not as certain that the O2 sensor needed to be replaced in the first place. The code that the computer gave you indicated a problem with the O2 but that does not mean that the O2 sensor is the problem. Something else has failed and is causing the O2 sensor to register a problem. You need to have someone diagnosis what is causing the O2 sensor reading to be off, otherwise you will be replacing a lot of parts until you find the culprit. The rotors are part of the braking system and can cause shacking while braking, not while stopped.
Hope this helps.
