Hyundai Repair: Airconditioner Relay, xg300, alternator

Question
I have a 2001 XG300 and airconditioner went out when the alternator died.  I have checked the fuse and it is fine.  Someone said it may be the relay.  Can you tell me where this is located in the engine and whether you think this is a probable cause.  The alternator has been replaced.

Answer
Hi, Theresa.  The a/c relay is located in the underhood fuse and relay block.  There should be a diagram on the inside of the cover illustrating where the relay is located within the box.  I doubt this is the problem, however.

My suggestion is to look to see whether the a/c compressor is plugged in.  It's not uncommon to unplug the compressor to move the wiring out of the way during alternator replacement.  In such a case, it's possible the person working on the car simply forgot to plug the compressor back in when they were done.
