Hyundai Repair: 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe - Stalling at take off from a stop, hyundai santa fe, secondary ignition

Question
tarted it and it acted like it didn't want to turn over but it did. It ran fine until I would come to a complete stop and try to go again. Everytime I stopped and tried going it would stutter and kinda jerk a few times before going. After it would get going it seemed ok. It felt like it wasn't getting enough fuel. Then this morning I get in it and it starts right up and ran like a champ. I had no probLems or hesitation, it was no longer raining. I'm not sure if the rain could've been a factor last night, that's why I mention it. It has never done this in the rain before.  Any advice as to what the problem could be?

Answer
Since this is primarily happening in the rain and your description is consistent with a misfire, I suspect you have a problem in your secondary ignition system (spark plugs, wires, ignition coil(s)).

To check for the issue, wait until dark, open the hood, start the engine, and then spray the plug wires with a water mist.  If this causes the vehicle to run poorly, you should see blue arcs where the problem is occurring.
