Isuzu Repair: 1991 GSI Geo Storm, geo storm, fifth gear

i have a 1991 gsi geo storm manual and i just learned how to drive a stick i burnt through one clutch and got it replaced...every since it was replace i think my linkage is loose, sometimes it will shift into first and most of the time it wont i also don't have fifth it won't even try to go into fifth gear....I'm afraid ill burn up this clutch because of having to take off in 2nd gear from a dead stop....please help me tighten the linkage or tell me if you think its the  linkage I've already put over a 1000 $ in the car on repairs and would like to save some money if possible please can you help me!?

Well I would have the linkage looked at and when dealing with new clutches and resurfaced flywheels it might take it awhile to properly seat against each other. Although with the 91 models I would need to know the type of transmission to give you a better answer Brandy.
