Land Rover Repair: problem with right-hand suspension, repair job, solenoids

Question
Hi:

I just acquired a 2001 HSE 4.6 Range Rover with 37.500 miles. The right-hand air suspension doesn’t go all the way up as it does the left-hand. Could you please let me know what could be the problem? If I start driving the car would it come to a normal position for both sides?

Thanks,

Answer
I assume that means you're not driving it?

There could be a number of different things wrong.  A bad height sensor will cause a permanent lean, a problem with the driver module will prevent one spring from getting any air, a failed spring will do the same.

A botched repair job could have things put back together incorrectly, causing the ECU to think it's putting air in one spring when it's really going into a different one.  First guess - it is most likely that 2 solenoids are switched out if it has been worked on, as that's the exact symptom of misplaced solenoids
