Land Rover Repair: discovery td5 series 2 , ACE,SLS, 2001 model, discovery td5, ace system

Question
Problem with suspension,'Rock Hard' on anything other than billiard table
surface. Have changed shockers to no avail. Bushes / Springs / air bags and oil
level in ACE appears ok.Wonder if there could be problem with 'ACE' system over
compensating and stiffening up suspension ???. All warning lights checking out
according to handbook.Any other DIY checks i could carry out???. Any help
would be appreciated.

Answer
The ACE system does not tighten the suspension up/down, it only stiffens the roll bar to minimize body roll.  My first guess was shocks, perhaps something is binding in the suspension, not allowing full travel.

Try jacking up each wheel as high as possible and checking for binding without going underneath while only supported on a jack.
