Land Rover Repair: 2001 Discovery II Sunroof leaks, windshield frame, hose barb

Question
Hi John,
I've enjoyed reading your correspondence with others & share your love of Land Rovers. It's a shame the dealer in my area really makes service a walk in an unmarked mine field. I've gotten nothing but carefully parsed legalistic doubletalk  from the service writers. Maybe you can help!
I have had the headliner removed from my 01 Discovery. I found 2 drains at the front of each sunroof. A total of 4 drains & they all leak. The dealer mentioned a "tray" that fits under the sunroof. Well over $600 just in parts to replace. And I assume then it's a matter of time before the drains leak again! Have you any thoughts on repairing the fittings (hose barb) or resealing them. It looks like I also
have a leak at the top of the windshield-water leaks upon turning right quickly. Please tell me what you think!
                         Thank you & Best Regards,
                                  Greg

Answer
You should be able to run your vehicle through a car wash and figure out where to seal the drains.  That's what we do.  As to the windshield leak - you usually have to replace the windshield to get that.

You should not need parts for that, should be fixed w/ tubing, epoxy, etc.

Also, the joint between the windshield frame and the roof can leak
