Land Rover Repair: discovery series 2 lights, xenon bulbs, wattage output

Question
I have a 2004 ,04/06/04 registered discovery 2 (Landmark)model. is it possible to fit xenon bulbs to the high & low beams with out any modification and without it causing any problems to wiring etc.

Answer
Hi David,

Xenon-plasma technology bulbs?  They are suppose to be direct replacements but the heat they generate could be a problem.

Try this website for more specific info:

If you're talking about HiD lights, the wattage output is increased so you'll have to change the wiring harness.

here's a website that has that info:

NB:  I drive every day in the moutains of QC and it would be nice to increase my lights power.  However, when I come head to head with a vehicle running these new Xenon lights, its a blinding experience.  I think I'll stay with my highbeams for now.

I think 55W is the legal limit...these puppies must be 75W!
