Answer
HI Ronda,

I found this TSB about the alarm system. Also, you can not remove a factory alarm system. The ECU needs it to run the car. The shut off should be by unlocking, with the key, the driver door.

ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM - UNINTENTIONAL AND/OR INTERMITTENT ACTIVATION - VEHICLES BUILT FROM 5/1/95 THROUGH 12/22/95

LINCOLN-MERCURY:
1995-96 TOWN CAR

ISSUE:
The anti-theft alarm may activate unintentionally and/or intermittently. This may be caused by the anti-theft lever on the decklid lock cylinder not touching the decklid which will simulate a decklid lock cylinder knock out" condition.

ACTION:
Reposition the anti-theft lever on the decklid lock cylinder so it comes in contact with the decklid. This will reduce the possibility of unintentional and/or intermittent activation. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove the decklid lock cylinder.

2. Using pliers, bend the anti-theft lever so that it engages the decklid sheet metal. Refer to Figure 1.

3. Reinstall the decklid lock cylinder.
