Mitsubishi Repair: 96 gst, antifreeze coolant, oil filter housing

Question
I just bought a 96 gst, well my popz and I bought for my brothers bday. Took it home and it started leaking antifreeze and oil.  The antifreeze is due to a cracked seal where the antifreeze is flushed from.  The oil is leakng from a metal line that comes from where the oil filter is, What is it? Could it be too tight?  And is it easily fixed? I also noticed teh the temp for the oil was super hot after I noticed the leaks.  Why ? Would it be because of the antifreeze/coolant leak, or because the car is turboed?  Thanks for any and all the info!!!!

Answer
Jesus,
I believe your oil filter housing has built-in oil cooler that allows coolant to flow around the oil to help cool it down.  If the oil filter is too tightly installed, it can cause that oil cooler to crimp and crack.  It can also dig into the oil filter housing; causing coolant and/or oil to leak.  Next time you perform an oil change, inspect the filter housing after you remove the oil filter and look for damage.  If the damage is severe enough, you'll probably need to get a new filter housing.
Good luck!
