Mitsubishi Repair: 1994 MITSUBISHI EXPO LRV Fuel System, mitsubishi expo lrv, fuse box

Question
Thanks again Linda, I do have to say I like the way you have responded and want to continue to help us find this problem.  We really do appreciate that.  I do know that we have checked everything we could think of, and are starting to think it is something in the computer itself.  The fuel pump is working, and all the fuses and relays that we have found have been checked.  I do want to post on here that the site ahdol.com did have the wiring diagrams, so if ever anyone asks for that, let them know.  As far as parts go for this thing, I do not think there were many of these sold in the US, and I know none of the junk yards around here have any.  Thanks again and if you do think of something else, please let us know.

Thank you Linda for the info, we did do as you said and checked with a voltameter.  We checked all the fuses in the fuse box and they are all fine.  There is still no fuel getting to the engine, we checked the wiring to the fuel pump and there is no volts going through to the tank.  We can not find a fuse in the fuse box for the fuel pump, would you know where the fuse or relay would be located.  We did try your other suggestion of getting a manual, but.... there is not one to be found at any parts house around here, we checked all of them already.  We did go to AHDOL Digital Online Library and asked them for a wiring diagram, but... I am afraid they will not have one for that vehicle, I don't think there were many sold in the US.  Maybe there is another fuse box that we are not finding, we found one by the battery, under the hood, and under the steering wheel.  And... we are also wondering, if we do find the problem, will we be able to get the parts to fix it, since it is so hard to find a manual for this vehicle.  Thank you in advance for all you can do for us.

-----Question-----
We are having trouble with a 1994 Mitsubishi Expo LRV.  The hotpost on the battery touched the hood of the van, now we can't get it to start. It turns over and has fire but the engine is not getting any fuel.  We were wondering if they  have a reset switch for the fuel pump, and if they do, where can we find that?  If they don't have a switch, what can we do to diagnoise the problem?  Thank you in advance for any help  you can give.

Joyce: Why do you think it is something for do with the fuel pump? When you turn the key on, can you hear the fuel pump start? Could be your blew a fuse someplace, there are fuses all over that engine. Some by the battery, over by the firewall and inside the van. To reset the system. Well the computer just remove the neg. cable off the battery wait for about 5 minutes and it should reset the system, then put the cable back on. As for the fuel pump no I don't think so. Could be a sensor is out and that is what tells the computer how to mix the fuel, so start the engine. Maybe you killed the computer. Get a voltmeter and a repair manual. Check through the system till you find the problem. You should be able to get a repair manual at any parts store around $20.00.Hope this helps and good luck!

Joyce: Gee I wish I was more help to you. One thing if you can not find the parts new there is always a junk yard. Sometimes you have to get those kind of parts when you can not find those parts anyplace else. But I am sure Mitsubishi would have them. But I believe the fuel pump relay is in or around the computer, which is located under the center console panel. Are you sure all the wires are hooked up, none are broken or weak. You could have a short someplace. When you think of all the dirt and what not that has knocked around in the area, with the the van being the year of 1994. Also you might have a bad fuel pump but why the hotpost of the battery touching the hood would mess with the fuel pump does not make any sense to me. Let me check with a few people and see if they can help you. My book on a Mitsubishi car talks of checking the harness, connector and then that MFI relay. I will try to get back to you in a few days, but mean while something else to check. Oh you could check with your library, some have repair manuals too. They might not let you check them out but you could make copies. I shall get back to you. Hope this helps and good luck!

Answer
Joyce: I checked around to all my friends that work on cars and  none were any helps to me. They did say that you should check with Mitsubishi and sometimes you have to keep at them to get an answer. I wish I could be more help to you but then where is other sites in cyber space that have question and answer maybe they might help you. Again sorry, do hope that you do find an answer to your problems. Take care. Good luck. Happy holidays.....
