Motorcycle Repair: 73 CL 200 Muffler swap, honda cl175, little twins

Question
I pulled one of these ONE YR WONDERS out of the desert the other day for a song.  Been getting it back together.  But it was missing the muffler.  Now I've got it running since, but it sounds way cooler than it actually is and I'd like to get a muffler back on it.  Finding this exact part seems next to impossible since it's kind of an oddball.  I have found a few sets off a 175.  Would these fit or does it need to be specific?

Thanks.

Answer
Matt, you can compare some of the mounting details at sites like this:

18300-378-670 appears to be still available from Honda for about $250. The single left pipe is NLA, though.

There is a used system on Ebay now, that needs a little work for $200...

It may well be that the 175 will bolt up to the 200 motor with a little tweaking of the mounting system components. While the engine is somewhat based upon the previous series 160-175cc twins, I am not sure that the exhaust port spacing is identical or the port exit flange angles are the same. It is likely that they are, but I really can't confirm that for you, as I don't have much to do with the little twins on a regular basis. I have seen bikes built up from bits of both series, but I know there are some serious changes internally between 175 and 200s, including the wrist pin bore sizes. I looked up the bore/stroke and it is 55.5x41, which is the same stroke as the smaller models, so the engine cylinder and cylinder head height should be about the same as the 175s.

Measure up your port spacings and ask any sellers of CL175 exhausts what they have for similar dimensions.
