Motorcycle Repair: Brake Light stays on, harley 1340, fxstc

I have a 1991 FXSTC Harley, 1340 Evo engine. My brake light stays on. I checked the hand control for seperation, the bulb, I replaced the rear switch, checked the wires by the tail light. Is there anything else that I can check that would cause this problem?. Thanks, Gerald

Unplug the wires from the rear switch. That way you can tell if its the front or rear thats the problem. If its the front, which it probably is then remove the lever and push the button with a screwdriver. You will probably find that the switch is bad
