Motorcycle Repair: 84 honda vt700c spark plug hole, heli coil, plug hole

I have a 84 vt700c and I stripped out the sparkplug hole on the front cylnder right side. I know the best way to fix this is to pull the jug off and drill,retap and instal a heli coil. But I don't know what size heli coil to use I use the NGK DPR8EA-9 Spark plugs.

Hi Jason... sorry to hear about the mishap. I believe the correct size heli-coil is a 12mm x 1.25 threads per mm. I usually purchase a package of numerous coils. The size bit to use is usually posted either on the back of the package or on a piece of paper insert in the package. I hope you get her all fixed up... I love those old Shadows!!!
