Motorcycle Repair: Early 70s CT90, honda ct90, carburator

Question
I have an early 1970's, not sure the exact year, Honda CT90. When I first got it many years ago, it ran perfect and had no problems. It has been sitting for a few years and will not start. I replaced the spark plug, checked the timing and points, and cleaned the carburator but the bike still wont do anything. I am trying to charge the battery, but it does not want to do it. What can I do to the bike, in order for it to start running again? It feels like i have tried everything.

Answer
That bike must have a charged battery to start.  I'm afraid it's a process of elimination.  It has to be either, spark, fuel or compression.  Remove the plug and lay it up against the head and see if it has spark when you kick it over.  If it has spark, it's compression or fuel. Get a compression gage and check compression.  It should be 130 psi at least. If that's okay, it's probably fuel.
