Motorcycle Repair: 1999 FLSTF Speedometer, flstf, speedometer

The speedometer recently will not move off of 0mph, I thought that I may have had a bad connection or something came loose.  After double and triple checking, I found nothing.  I ordered a new speedometer from Drag, fits perfect, no problems going back together.  However, same result, is there something I can check in the front wheel where the cable connects???

Remove the cable from the speedo and jack the bike up. Rotate the front wheel. The cable should turn. If not then either the cable is broken or the drive unit is bad.
If its the drive unit you will have to remove the front wheel and replace it.
