Motorcycle Repair: 1969 yamaha 250 DT1B enduro, yamalube, cycle oil

Question
i recently obtained this and am restoring it...i have all the manuels but it does
not say WHAT type of oil to add to the "AUTOLUBE" tank. it says the better the
oil the better it will operate... also do you have contact for replacement parts.

Answer
Cathy,

-the autolube uses a good quality 2 cycle oil for
motorcycles.

-Yamaha has there own "Yamalube" or you can
find various other brands for motorcycle use.

-It is also good to watch the autolube oil
line and see that oil is pumping okay when
the bike is running.

-The oil pump has a little bleed screw to check
if oil is getting to the pump and bleed out any air.

-The throttle cable is attached to the autolube
pump to make it pump more oil as the engine speeds up.
You should get some smoke from the exhaust
if the oil is pumping okay but not excessive.

-For parts just search the internet, try
bikebandit.com for parts diagrams.
