Motorcycle Repair: exhaust gasket on new vance & hines, exhaust gasket, header pipes

I'm replacing the original exhaust with the Vance & Hines classic my question Is:The front header pipe Is different at the head then the original and won"t take the exhaust gasket.Do I need a gasket? the pipe Is bent over and there Is a Brass washer under exhaust pipe..there directions suck....

Hi Jerry.

You will need to either get a new gasket or modify the pipes to properly fit the bike.

It could also be that they sent you the wrong header pipes.

Make sure that the header they sent you is, in fact, the correct one.  If so, then go with the new gasket and see if that works.
