Motorcycle Repair: Please Help!!, dirt bikes, fresh oil

Question
Hello,
I know you only deal with dirt bikes but you should know the answer to this questions, it applys to dirt bikes also. I have an 83 yamaha maxium 750 street bike.  It was running well when I bought it but would not idol.  After a few hundred miles I decided to rebuild the carbs. (Note my fresh oil change was still almost clear in the bubble at this point.)All was going well until my local mechanic sugested I replace the rubber ports connecting the carbs to the engine due to some small cracks.  3 of the 8 bolts sheard off durning removal.  I was able to drill and tap 2 of them but the third one wouldn't drill.  I took it to the mechanic who suggested this.  He got a little farther then snapped the carbide bit off.  He sent the bike to a "friend" who was able to drill it out and fix it.  His friend, however took 2 months to get the job done.  I finally recieved the bike back and the back brakes are now siezed and the oil is very milky, creamy. (air cooled engine) I am pissed and the mechanic says he did nothing wrong!  I think the bike was left out in the rain when the carbs were off. Can you please explain what makes oil completely milky and brakes seize?  He says its just from sitting but it sat in my garage all winter and didn't do this. I need to prove this to the mechanic.  If he wont deal with this, How do I fix the Oil issue and get the water out? How bad is this?

Please help,

Joe

Answer
Yes, there is water in the oil and your assumption is probably correct.  Take a sample of the oil to him and show him, tell him it was fresh when it was put in.  The back brake is most likely rusted up.. remove the wheel and inspect.

NOrmally, water in the oil is not a problem to fix, BUT - if this bike was left in the rain with the ports to the motor open, this can be very bad - as in rust in your motor!! do not accept this answer from the mechanic - bring the bike to him and tell him you want the bike back running, aside from pulling the motor apart and inspecting yourself-
