Motorcycle Repair: Suzuki fuel tank replacement, 1979 suzuki gs750, fuel tank

I need to replace the fuel tank on my 1980 Suzuki GS1100L.  Will the tank from a 1979 Suzuki GS750 fit?  Thanks

Hi Joe.
 That is one of the harder questions to give a definitive answer for.  Usually if you have the tank from a bike in a model series, as long as the mounts match up the same on both tanks, then you can use the tank.  But sometimes, the original is a different capacity tank than the replacement.  Make sure that the replacement is listed with, at least, the same fuel capacity as the original and the mounts match up identically.
