where is the canister and purge valve located thanks

The evaporative canister is located under the car and connects to the gas tank.  If it is indeed the valve it is on the canister.  Usually, the code means a hose is loose and the car is not pressurizing the fuel system.  Check for loose or rotten hoses first.
