Nissan Repair: 1998 Altima Ignition Lock, steering wheel lock, nissan cars

Question
My ignition Lock is "locked" and will not turn. How can I fix this or do I need to replace it? If so how do I do that?

Answer
Shannon,

If you are talking about the ignition switch try a different key first.  While turning the key wiggle the steering wheel left and right to get the steering wheel lock to release.  This is a problem on older Nissan cars.  Once you get it unstuck you should get a lubricant for locks and spray the cylinder where the key goes in.  Also, if the keys are worn it is a good idea to get a new one cut and that should alleviate the problem in the future.
