Nissan Repair: battery problem, nissan maxima, battery cables

Question
My son's maxima lost power and would not start.  I bought a new battery and it started right off, but now the clock resets when it has been sitting for a while and the power seats and other electrical systems seem to have little power when the car is off.  They seem ok when the car is running but lose pwoer when turned off.  This is a 1993 Nissan Maxima.  There has been very little repair work but seems to have gone through several batteries.

Answer
I would check the battery cables since your problem started with the last battery change.  There are several wires connected where the battery resides and the cables connect.  Check to make sure all the ground wires are in good order and make sure the fuseable links are correct and not going out.  Also, check the fuse and relay panels to make sure that none are loose.  But, my bet is on the cables.  If you are going through batteries you might think about when the last time the alternator was checked for proper output as well.
