Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Followup: Noises still after brake replacement., buick skylark, cris cross

Question
I'm going to bring the car in to the mechanic to take a look at the brakes tomorrow. I took a visual inspection of the rotor with the tires still attached. I've only seen rotors with a circular wear pattern since I started driving and that seems to make sense since the rotors spin & braking causes friction against the spin. But todays inspection revealed a criss-cross hatched wear pattern on the rotors instead of the circular one. Is that normal? If not, what does it mean?

Question -
I just had my front brakes - (pads & rotors) replaced yesterday for my '90 buick skylark. The mechanic ordered a new set of rotors since the current ones were rather thin and old. Two studs & 3 lug nuts on the front right wheel were replaced too 'cause they were bad.

I drove it home OK. But when I decelerated into a curve leading to a by-street to my home, I started hearing a friction-type creaking noise. the noise would stop whenever I brought the car to a stop but as I resumed driving, it came up again. I was going about 10-20 mph. I was close to home, so I brought it in the driveway. Haven't taken a look at the wheels or brakes yet.

What might the noise infer? Brakes or studs/nuts loose? or is it normal?
Answer -
I wouldn't say it is normal, so I would pull the wheel and look.
See if the lining material may have come loose from the pad...I have seen it happen.
I have seen a pad installed backwards, with the metal against the rotor also, but I doubt that one.
But look, for sure.

Answer
The cris-cross could be good, and could indicate a new rotor, or a good, non directional grinding, rather than spiral turning.
The important thing is all 4 surfaces approximately the same, and they should be pretty smooth, not rough.
But taking it back to where it was done is what I would suggest, and if you don't think they are doing you right, stop by Midas for an inspection, and opinion.
