Pontiac Repair: remote start on 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix, pontiac grand prix, pontiac dealer

bought a used 2005 Grand Prix that has after market tint.  Remote start %26 keyless entry only works at less than 10 feet from the car.  Took it to Pontiac dealer and they said the after market tint is interfering with the operation and said the only way to fix it is to remove the tint in the back window.  Is the receiver for the keyless entry in the back window?  Thought they were in the front window.

Yep Tint can affect the signal from the remote. Tint can also affect the onstar GPS anteanna as well. the antenna for the remote is on the rear package shelf on that car.. Are the batteries new in the remotes? That can cause the same issue too if they are weak.. Good luck :)
