Pontiac Repair: fuel injector 1999 sunfire, head gasket, pontiac sunfire

QUESTION: I am changing a head gasket and need to know how to disconnect electrical connectors from fuel injectors. Its a pontiac sunfire 2.2 1999

ANSWER: Hi Debbie:

I believ there is a jumper harness that runs all the injectors I think it's just 1 big plug. If you can't find that the injectors them self there it a clip you have to push on and pull up on the connector to remove them individually. It's tight to get in there. Save your self some time as well do not take the intake manifild off the cylinder head It' makes it a bit harder to lift off the engine but it's less work in the end. Good luck :}

No sorry I just fix them .I don't worry about the price of getting them fixed. I can tell you if the head has more than .010 " of warpage the HEAD CAN NOT BE machined and it will need to be replaced Tell the machine shop that or else they will machine it down ad you WILL HAVE problems.
