RV Repair: 71 Prowler electrical problem, vdc power, wall outlets

Question
Hi Jim. I bought a Prowler a few years ago and we had only used it once before now. We had hooked up to the house power and everything worked fine. Now we have just moved it to a spot where it would have to run off the battery and it only appears to be able to run the outdoor lights and the water pump. I have put in all new fuses and made sure the breakers weren't tripped. We really only need the ceiling lights and the plugs to work. I have tried switching the wire for the lights to the fuse for the water pump and the lights still didn't work. Does this sound like a break in the wiring and how would i fix it? Thanks so much!

Answer
First of all, you will not be able to use the wall outlets off of 12vdc, they are 110 volt ac. As for the lights, ensure that the bulbs are good first. Then if you have the abilty, check for 12 vdc at the switchs for the lights. If it is not present on both sides of the switch when turned on, you will need to find a break in the 12 vdc power wire. If there is power present, the only thing left is a bad ground.
