RV Repair: Onan Generator 4000 - High Frequency, best bet, carburetor

The subject generator on my RV won't start. It gives out an error message indicating the frequency is too high. Is there an adjustment for this that I can make or does this require taking it to a repair shop?

That error should be for a high RPM issue that is caused by a problem in the carburetor or the governor. If the RPM goes too high the gen-set puts out too much voltage and it will shut down to protect your electronics.
I believe your best bet is to take it in. It won't cost you very much,  observe, ask questions and you'll be wiser for it the next time.
