RV Repair: Hardwood floor to replace carpeting, maple flooring, 5th wheel

Question
Dave
We are wanting to replace carpet in our 5th wheel which has one slide out. How do you get the carpet off the side and then how do you get the hardwood underneath the slide out?  Do you have to take out the slide portion and if so , how do you do this?

Answer
All slideouts are constructed differently, so it is hard for me to tell you what to do without seeing it. When you say hardwood, do you mean the plywood, or the actual "oak" or "maple" flooring? The carpet is probably stapled down so all you have to do is tug on it and it should come up.
Hope this helps a little,
Dave
