Steering Column Repair: 78 chevy truck, flat connector, chevy truck

i have a 1978 heavy half the steering column was loose i fixed it by tightening the bolts and it was working great but now it will turn on but it won`t turn over i think it might be the neutral saftey switch is there a way to loop the wiring until i can get a new one the truck is a column shift turbo 350

Hi Trevor:
If it is the neutral switch, it is located at the base of the steering column right next to the floor muonted to the steering column tube.  The green wire set (flat connector) is for backup lights and the other set (I think it's pink and square) is for the start function.  Those are the wires you jump together.
