Subaru Repair: oil leak, oil leaks, loyale

on a 91 loyale with a 1.8 motor there are some pretty bad oil leaks. they seem to be coming from the timing cover. would they be coming from the timing cover seal inside the cover?

Alex,

You have many places the oil can be coming from, the timing cover seal keeps stuff away from the timing belts, not oil in, the belt is meant to be clean and dry.

Most likely a cam seal or support o-ring has failed.
