Subaru Repair: AT Temperature Light Blinks 5 times, subaru legacy wagon, transmission control module

My wife has a 1996 Subaru Legacy Wagon.  I just noticed that when you start the Legacy, the AT Temperature light blinks 5 times then goes out.

The light blinks if the car is hot or cold.

Is this a problem?

Hello, and yes the Transmission control module(TCM) will command the ATF temperature light to blink when it sees a problem.Better off to get it diagnosed as it could prevent transmission damage caused by a failed sensor or solenoid.
