Towing Issues: F-150 Tow Package, electric brake controller, summerdale alabama

Question
I live in Summerdale, Alabama.  It's between Mobile and Pensacola on the Gulf Coast.  I have a 2006 F-150 FX4 with a tow package.  It came with a hitch and the big round electrical plug as well as the small four wired plug.  Does this mean that my truck will engage the trailer brakes even though I haven't installed an electric brake controller?

Answer
While RV issues are not my area of expertise, I do know you need a brake control module for the trailer brakes to work...

The control "reads" the vehicles brakes and applies the trailer brakes accordingly... Or you can manually apply the brakes on the trailer using the controls..

So you need the box before the brakes work ....
