Towing Issues: tow dolly, s10 blazer, drive shaft

Question
I have a 1996 s10 blazer 4wd that I have to tow 500 miles, I would like to put it on a tow dolly, Do I need to disconect the drive shaft, if so which way should I tow front or rear wheels down
thanks

Answer
Well if the vehicle runs then you can either back it on the tow dolly, or nose it on... Now a few things to consider are if it has locking hubs.. If you have hubs then you can back it on and make sure the hubs are in free.. That way you will not have to pull a drive shaft.

Now if you do not have hubs then you should nose it on and then tie it down.. Place a block behind the rear wheels and then place the vehicle in neutral and then remove the driveline...

If it does not run then you will have some more problems getting it on the dolly but the same things to consider about the driveline..

Hope this helps
