Volvo Repair: OIL CHANGE RESET, seatbelt light, light flashes

Hi Roger
I have a 2001 S-80, 2.9, non turbo, with two issues:  just changed oil--how to reset service light (stays on for approx 2 min. every start up) and just replaced MAF-code gone-but still have a  500 rmp idle surge--no code showing--good vacuum at manifold and no leaks with brake fluid spray.  Please help with a least service lite.  thanks, Roger

Joe, 2001 one is a bit tricky to reset but I'll try to explain it to you.  Turn key on pos 1 and push and hold odometer reset button.  Now while holding it, turn key to pos 2.  wait until service light flashes and release button.  If that doesnt work the you have to wait until the seatbelt light turns off, then release and rehold the button.  Very confusing but it should work.  As far as the MAF, you shouldnt have messed with it.  There is a factory recall on the Throtle bodies on those cars.  Free replacement at the dealer.  Call for appt.  Roger
