Dodge: 1994 v6 Dodge Dakota air bag light, carbuerators, other vehicles

Question
i was on my way home from the powerplant the other day (we went boating and i was hauling it back home) when all of a sudden the air bag light came on. I thought that maybe, as in past experiences with other vehicles and crazy dash board lights, that if i parked the truck and let it "calm down" till tomorrow that when i went to work the next day, the pesky air bag light would go out after start up. well,... it didn't. i work on cars with my friends all the time. engines, carbuerators, and exhaust, but i don't know too much about vehicle electronics, other than radios and head units. any do it yourself suggestions and or check  i can run before handing it over to an expert?

Answer
Aaron,
The air bag is not something i would recommend tampering with,it's probably a sensor.Mine has been on,on my Dodge for 2 years and the dealer can't tell me what the problem is.I'd recommend letting them look at it for you due to deployment of the air bag.
