Tires: changing wheel size, gas milege, chevrolet tahoe

I have a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe 2/w/drive  with 265/70/16wheels. I want to put some wheels from a Tahoe Z71which or 17"  wheels  . What size tire do you recomend to keep as close to making my gas milege and speedometer the same. And do you think it will effect my brakes . Thanks Phil

Hello Phillip! In answering your question the closest size to your stock 265/70/16 would be size 275/65/17. This size should only affect your speedometer only slightly 2-4%, but also by doing this your going to limiting your selection in tires greatly and your cost per tire will raise also.
