How to Replace the Dashboard Light on a 1997 Honda Accord LX

The fifth-generation Honda Accord LX was a midsize automobile produced from 1994 to 1997. In some countries, the vehicle was known as the Isuzu Aska. The dashboard lights on the 1997 Honda Accord LX wear out over time and through general wear and tear. The replacement process involves removing the dashboard and replacing the bulbs. You need a Phillips screwdriver to remove the dashboard and access the bulbs.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Replacement bulb
  • Remove the two screws on the underside of the top part of the plastic dashboard bezel.

  • Pull the bottom of the bezel toward you and slightly upward to pop it out. This will reveal the cluster lights.

  • Remove the two screws on each side of the metal frame of the instrument panel.

  • Pull out the instrument panel and disconnect the two electrical connectors by squeezing in both tabs on each connector. Turn the panel around and unscrew any burnt-out bulb and replace it with a new bulb.

  • Place the panel back into the vehicle and reconnect the electrical connectors. Reinstall the two screws on each side and reattach the plastic part of the dashboard.
