Colors of the Wiring in a Sony CDX-M610

The Sony CDX-M610 is a car stereo head unit. The colors of the wiring indicate what wire is for what function. Sony tends to use standard wiring for their units; meaning the wiring colors for most models are the same. Sony recommends that users have a qualified Sony technician install their Sony CDX-M610. The Sony CDX-M610 came with two wiring harnesses: a nine pin harness and a 16 pin harness.

Nine Pin Harness

  • According to Sony, the wire coloring for the nine pin harness for the Sony CDX-M610 is:

Common Wires

  • Both units share the common Power (red) and Ground (black) wire colors. These are the universally accepted colors in mobile stereo installations.

Nine and 16 Pin

  • The 16 pin unit includes front and rear functionality while the nine pin unit only has left and right wiring.
