Custom Plumbing for Nitrous Oxide Foggers

A simple injector spray-bar plate nitrous oxide system is fine for street performance and certain classes of racing. It's easy to install and usually provides plenty of power. NOS points out, though, that when you need more than 350 horses, a direct-port system is the way to go. With custom connecting tubes and fogger nozzles for each intake runner, this setup flows way more nitrous, and distributes it evenly to each cylinder.

The drawback of a direct-port system is the sometimes intricate plumbing work required. NOS will do the tube-bending work for a flat fee of $250 for most applications. If you would rather do it yourself, here are a few tips and tricks from Dan Chestnut, an install technician who does this type of work all day long at the NOS West Coast facility, located at the So-Cal Speedshop in Pomona, California. Since Dan's a pro, you may not have all the tools and jigs he has at his disposal, but you may be able to pick up a few pointers from his methods.
