Car Stereos: amp issue, subwoofer channel, subsonic filter

hello, i started to have a issue with my sound system, some bass notes won't play or play to low and then high. i tought it was a speaker cable issue and added gauge 12 speaker wire.same thing. please help

Hi Rob.

sounds like a settings problem on your amplifier or on your deck, what kind of amp and deck do you have?.

i would mess with the frequencies on the amp make sure that you set the crossover amp on low pass (LP) dont set the frequency too high or too low, listen to your subs and kinda play it by ear. also check on your deck if you have high pass activated on your subwoofer channel.

also if you have a subsonic filter on your amp that filters the subsonic noises on your sub this is to eliminate notes that the subwoofer cant play, when a subwoofer cant play a note it just moves like if it was playing but you cant hear any sound, i would mess with that too.
