Chrysler Repair: 98 Caravan Instrument Cluster, negative cable, body control module

Question
I read your post on the intermittent gauges on a 98 Caravan with the 3.0. I just bought one and I am pretty sure it has the "cold solder" issue because it works some of the time. It does not appear like the Body Control Module is the issue. How hard is it to get the cluster out and inspect it without cracking a bunch of the plastic? I'm fairly mechanical in nature, I just don't want to crack the plastic because of a hidden fastener or something.
Thanks,
Andy
