1995 Eagle Vision ESI, 3.5 liter engine, 6cyl, 4door

This morning when I was leaving home, when I attempted to turn my steering wheel to make a right turn, the car kept going straight.  The steering wheel turns but the wheels do not.  What sort of nightmare could this be????

Glad you are O.K. and in one piece!

The problem here will be found inside your steering column. Probably the shaft connecting the steering wheel to the rack and pinion has broken.

OR

The ring that holds the steering wheel to the column has worn dramatically.
