Land Rover Repair: abs light and t/c light, inexpensive scanners, valve assemblies

Question
QUESTION: I recently replaced front pads and rotors now I have the abs and t/c light stay on I coded it and comes up with primary and secondary switches open for brake lightes i switch pedal light and still have both codes can you advice me to this and where is the secondary lite thank you

ANSWER: The only brake lamp switch the car has is above the brake pedal.  If you used an aftermarket scan tool to get the code it may be giving a confusing reference to some other switch, and if so, you will have to refer to the documentation for the scan tool.  I have seen that issue before with inexpensive scanners.  The factory system and the Autologic (what we use here at Robison Service) both give text descriptions that correlate with the component ID in the workshop manual, not just fault codes.

QUESTION: I used a Snap On scanner not just any this also gives a very descriptive output and replaced with a oem part will the secondary switch on the abs do this

Answer
Like I said in the original post, you have to correlate the scanner codes with the manufacturer shop manual, and whatever the scanner people provide.  The great benefit to the OEM scanners is that you don't need to do that.  It may be referring to the pressure switch on the modulator as you suggest, but I have never replaced those here.  In every case I have known the whole modulator needs to be changed when that switch signals a fault.  We do a lot of modulator valve assemblies nowadays.
