Land Rover Repair: landrover discovery, spark plug wire, fuel pump relay

Question
My 1994 3.9L Discovery just won't start---It was going fine pulled up and in the drive. 1/2 hour later will not start. Turns over fine but just won't kick.
I can hear fuel pump whirr when ignition on and all fuses checked and OK.

Would like to know if it's electrics or fuel before calling in mechanic.

Cheers

Answer
Hi Wayne,

so you have a good battery, the starter is working and you here the fuel pump relay.  Fuses all look good....you believe you have fuel BUT do you have spark?

It could be your coil, your distributor, rotor, a spark plug wire or even the spark amplifier module.  Pull of a spark plug wire, remove the plug and see if it is wet.  If so, there's no spark.

If it's a manual speed, have you tried to jump start the Disco by popping the clutch?

Best of luck,
