Motorcycle Repair: starting problem vfr 400 nc24, starter solenoid, starter button

hi. im having a problem starting my vfr 400 by using the start button. recently i have changed my starter motor, solenoid,and switchgear. done all this and it still wont start by button. the only way i can start it is by bump start or putting a screwdriver over the two poles on the solenoid. Is there a starter relay on this bike cos i cant find one? could you please help. summer is close

I would say that the starter button on your bars is bad.To check it on the starter solenoid ( the thin you short with the screwdriver )You will find 2 small wires. Unplug the wires and check for voltage as you depress the starter button.( button side of solenoid key on )If the button is working you will get 12 volts from one of the wires.If you get voltage from the button replace the solenoid.
